"So very sorry at our great loss....Thanatopsis By William Bryant "To him who in the love of Nature holds /Communion with her visible forms; she speaks /A various language; for his gayer hours /She has a voice of gladness; and a smile; /And eloquence of beauty; and she glides /Into his darker musings; with a mild /And gentle sympathy; that steals away /Their sharpness; ere he is aware. When thoughts /Of the last bitter hour come like a blight /Over thy spirit; and sad images /Of the stern agony; and shroud; and pall; /And breathless darkness; and the narrow house; /Make thee to shudder; and grow sick at heart;-- /Go forth under the open sky; and list /To Nature's teachings; while from all around-- /Earth and her waters; and the depths of air;-- /Comes a still voice--Yet a few days; and thee /The all-beholding sun shall see no more /In all his course; nor yet in the cold ground;"

I clicked on a link to this site on accident, but I'm sure glad I did. Missy seemed like a beautiful person, inside and out. I always admire other teenagers who have a strong faith in God, because there's so much peer pressure, drugs, sex, etc. out there today that it's hard to maintain a strong relationship w/ the Lord. I'm sure Missy is smiling down on you from Heaven.

Dear Steve & Wanda & Family: I will never forget Missy. She impacted every person she came in contact with. She made an impact on my life and on my daughter, Clarissa. Thinking or talking about Missy always brings tears to my eyes. I always will remember Missy.

I stumbled across this page truly by accident at first but such a sweetly composed life story of such a beautiful young girl (not much younger than myself) could not be passed by. You have done a wonderful job displaying the wonderful photographs and memories of your Missy. I already feel as if though she were a friend of mine too. Love and Best Wishes- Jennifer PS: I wanted to say thank you for creating this page. Not only does Missy shed a happy tear every time she sees it- but I will shed one too- each time I think of it. I lost a friend of mine when I was very young. I never really knew what sickness overtook his fragile body at such a young age (we were about five years old). My parents never did tell me what sickness overcame him to take him up to heaven- but oddly enough it was enough closure for me to understand that he was very sick and needed to go up to Jesus- who could take care of him. At the age of five you don't need many more reasons than that. To this day I still think and wonder of him. He was my best friend- and funny enough- the last thing I remember helping him do was clean his room so that it would look nice for when his grandmother came for a visit. He passed away during his grandmother's visit- but she did admire how clean his room was- which made him proud. Sometimes it is the little things that mean the most.

I too have lost the music in my heart with the loss of my 19 year old son, John. His soulful guitar music filled my house with joy, His laughter healed the hearts of many. Gone now and forever are the sounds of his footsteps comming in from one sport or another, filling my life with hungry friends and stories of the day. My heart bleeds for you as well.

I found this site by chance, and was moved by the tale. Oddly, I have driven that road on one of my few trips to the States. I feel for you. She was a beautiful young lady, outside and within.

I first heard about Missy from a friend of the family who is going to BIOLA and is in the music program. Our son David who also plays the oboe and is at Biola at the present time in the music program. I have viewed Missy's web page a number of times and have remembered you in my prayers a number of times, especially on her bithday and the time of her death. In His love and Peace, Pete & Grace Ernst - we have a daughter named Missy. You have created a very nice web page as a tribute to Missy.
