I'm not sure how I ended up at your website. I was searching for some trivial tidbit (long forgotten now) and before I knew it, I had tears running down my face as a result of your beautiful memorial to a young lady that I will never have the chance to meet. Thank you for sharing your memories of your special angel. This website is truly touching, and in that respect, Missy lives on.

"I'm a Navy chaplain and was doing research for an Advent sermon to include some reference to Gladys Knight's "So Sad The Song that Says Goodbye." When I searched that title, Google found only your tribute to Missy. As the father of a 12-year-old daughter I know something of your love for Missy. It's not easy, this father's love for a child. We become very vulnerable to the very thing your life has brought you. Thank you for sharing your love of Missy, your family, your struggle to find meaning in it all, and your faith in our Lord, Jesus. Thank you for confirming for me again what the burial rite of my church says, that in death "life is changed, not ended." Love never ends. Thank you for being my brother in Christ in that mystical fellowship of believers. Peace be with you. If I may commend to you a book I read a number of years ago written by a Baptist pastor, L. D. Johnson, whose young daughter Carole died in an automobile accident. His too, is a wonderful and thoughtful tribute to his beloved daughter. The book is "The Morning after Death."

I am so sorry for your loss! Please remember my son Danny as he took his life 15 minutes after I told him I was too busy for him...Maybe Missy and Danny are watching from above...

Dear Missy's mom and dad, I accidently stumbled opon your beautiful memorial that you made for your daughter. I'm so glad I did. I'm searching for the words to say right now, my heart feels so deeply for you. How I cried to read your beautiful words! I feel as though I knew a part of Missy, even though we never met. You did a wonderful job sharing your memories, your love, and your feelings for Missy. If only every child could have such a wonderful childhood as you gave to Missy, the world would be a better place. The love you have for your children touches my heart. I have two children of my own, Megan, almost 6, and Cole, almost 3. The pain you have endured is unfathimable, your loss even greater. I feel as though happening upon your sight has made me realize how precious life is, and my heart is filled with love for your family as well as my own. Thank you Lord for sharing Missy with you, even for such a short time. You have really touched my heart today, and I will never forget how this has made me feel. I want to share your beautiful memorial for Missy with my family and close friends so they too can have a chance to know about her life. I feel priveliged to have been given the opportunity to know about her, what pride you must have! With sincere love and sympathy, Jennifer Atkins

Dear Wanda and Steve, Again I wanted to be first to sign the guest book for your very special Missy. This new guest book can be copied occasionally and you will be able to save the marvelous messages people write after spending some time at this site. If ever a child was born to be an angel, even on Earth, it was Missy. I just don't know why she couldn't stay here and spread her charm and inspiration until we all had the good fortune to know her. I look forward to meeting her in heaven and I believe she will know me and that makes me smile. Speaking of smiles, Missy's is the greatest! Thank you for sharing her and your profound love for her with those of us who visit here. Love, Julane

My heart goes out to this family. I too have a daughter, born in 1980, who plays the oboe at college. Your daughter was a beautiful and talented person. How nice to have her honored in this way.

I'm not a particularly religious person, but like so many others who have seen your beautiful memorial, I was truly touched by it. I found myself weeping for your loss, and profoundly grateful for all that is good in my life. In that sense, you have not only kept the spirit of Missy alive forever... you have also awakened the spirit and love that your God intends for many other people (myself included). For that, I thank you. I will hug and kiss my own children for a long time when I get home tonight.

My prayers are with you. I am deeply saddened in the loss of your daughter, even though I did not know her personally. I fully understand and am keeping you in my thoughts.
