"Dear Steve and Wanda, I visited Missy's site while "checking out" Biola online (as a mother of a college bound child) a couple years ago. I signed the guest book at that time and you graciously responded. I have thought about you many times since and have lifted you and your family in prayer. I considered your grace and faith and the testimony of your lovely daughter's life and your continued testimony to our God. I was drawn to Biola, and prayed that my daughter would investigate such a place - though I kept my desire quiet. Through our own adversity since that visit, God directed her to Biola. It can only be described as God ordained and quite a testimony to His faithfulness. She is a freshman and loving every moment of it! Your experience had helped me before her departure and since in "letting her go", that she is in His care. I was reminded of it again the other night when the gunmen were on campus. I am grateful that she continues to mature in faith at Biola and knows her Lord. When friends ask how she is doing, I let them know that next to being home with the Lord (which is Home), she is "home" at Biola. I share this with you because I know that your story, your loss is part of ours. God has remained faithful through our adversity as He has yours.
